This virtual course will take a look at the ethical component of treating clients who have experienced traumatic events, as well as ways to navigate these challenges in a clinical setting. Due to the impact of trauma on brain development and behavior, this population is primed to bring about issues that raise ethical dilemmas within the therapeutic dynamic. This course is a great way to gain Ethics CEs with interesting information you can use in your everyday clinical work.

Objectives:

1.     Participants will learn a minimum of 3 potential ethical code violations that commonly arise in working with identified survivors of trauma.

2.     Participants will come to understand the potential pitfalls of diagnosis without proper assessment for trauma and the ethical implications of treatment under these diagnoses.

3.     Participants will evaluate the potential ethical issues that are common in using various trauma treatment modalities and ways to safeguard against these ethical concerns.
