​INTRODUCTION:

Therapists have worked with clients who feel trapped in a destructive relationship pattern (whether it’s with an addict, abuser, or from a personal perspective, even a manipulative friend).  It’s highly unusual for a client to come to a therapy session and request to be treated for codependency. Instead, they will likely report symptoms of anxiety, depression, addictions, or talk about their “relationship problems.” If we scratch the surface of someone suffering from any of these ailments, we will most likely find codependent, dependent and maladaptive behaviors. Join us as we learn more about codependency and dependent personality disorder.
