The Alabama Suicide Prevention and Resources Coalition will be offering free QPR suicide prevention training classes at the following times this month:

Friday, January 22 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm

Tuesday, January 26 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm

QPR stands for “Question, Persuade, and Refer,” and it is a method of recognizing suicide warning signs and intervening with someone in crisis. Classes will be held via Zoom and are free—first come, first served. The maximum capacity for each class is 30 participants. The first 30 people to sign up for each time slot will be admitted into the class (after that, registrants will be added to a waiting list for future classes). 2 NBCC CEU hours will be awarded after the completion of the class.

In order to register, please email [email protected] with your name and time of the class you want to attend by noon on Thursday, January 21. Zoom links for both classes will be sent Thursday evening on January 21. Please do not submit multiple requests—your email will be responded to. If you are placed on a waiting list, you will be contacted first for future training opportunities.
